COVID-19 HARDSHIP APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for the rent, mortgage, and utility assistance under the COVID-19 Cares Act Funding Program, your household must have experienced a financial hardship due to the COVID-19 emergency. If you have experienced financial hardship and you meet the requirements outlined below, we ask that you complete an application.
If the following apply to your circumstances, you may qualify for the COVID-19 assistance:

My income has been lost. For example: Unemployment as a direct impact of COVID-19.

My income has been reduced. For example: Reduced job hours, reduced pay, or a decline in self-employed business earnings as a direct impact of COVID-19.

My income has been lost or reduced because child care was not available as a direct impact of COVID-19.
Required documents may include but not limited to:

Furlough letter and/ or last six pay stubs

Eviction letter, notice to vacate, statement for utilities, and/or disconnect notice
Other qualifying factors may apply.
Individuals currently under Section 8 housing do not qualify.

COVID-19 UTILITY & RENTAL ASSISTANCE

Individuals and families in the Corpus Christi community can look forward to continued support from Corpus Christi Hope House thanks to a substantial grant from the City of Corpus Christ through the Cares Act. Rent, mortgage and utility assistance is currently available to individuals who have experienced financial hardship as a direct impact of COVID-19.
APPLICATION PROCESS
How can I apply for the assistance?
Please call Hope House at 361-852-2273 between 8 AM to 5 PM on Monday, 9 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 AM to 7 PM on Wednesday and 8 AM to 12 PM on Friday. Ask for the COVID 19 assistance program, to begin your application through the initial phone interview. Once you complete the initial phone interview, you will be asked to submit the required documents and fill out the written application. You can download the application by selecting the link below. You will be given an appointment to bring the application and required documents to our office located at 3226 Reid Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404 on your designated appointment date. Corpus Christi Hope House is able to provide mortgage assistance through the CDBG CV-Mortgage Assistance Grant. These funds are provided by The City of Corpus Christi through the Cares Act and is intended to help those impacted financially by COVID-19.
